School houses

On enrolment children are allocated to one of four houses.

House names have been chosen from historic sites around Townsville and a colour is associated with each house.

Students compete for their ‘house' in two major events for sporting achievement. These are the interhouse swimming carnival, held at an outside pool, held early in term 1 and the interhouse athletics carnival, which is held on our school ovals early in term 3.

From these interhouse competitions, students are selected from achieved results to represent the school in the interschool competitions for both swimming and track and field athletics. Students are also eligible to nominate for the interschool cross country competition.

The four houses are:

Castle purple

Magnetic yellow

Cleveland red

Ross green
