The Belgian Gardens State School Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) consists of a group of volunteers,  including the parents of children attending the school, the school’s teachers and staff, and interested people in the wider community working together to improve the facilities and opportunities available at the school. The role of a P&C is to promote the school’s interests by working closely with parents, the community, staff and students to enhance student learning and improve the school environment.

The P&C  raises funds to provide financial assistance towards purchases for the school and its grounds and facilities.  The P&C  holds a number of events throughout the year to assist in raising funds and is always looking for volunteers to assist with the fundraising events.  These events have been very successful and well supported and have included a disco, movie night, Colour Run and stalls for Mother's Day and Father's Day, to name a few.  The support of the school community and willing volunteers are vital for the continued success of these events.
By participating in the P&C, members are supporting the school and it provides an opportunity to share in the school’s decision-making processes and shape the school’s future.
P&C membership does not bring with it any obligation to attend meetings or participate in activities but is essential if you want to contribute to decision making as only members are allowed to vote at P&C meetings. Vibrant P&C Associations with members who actively contribute can create a strong sense of community and generate positive outcomes for the school.
The P&C operates under a Constitution which is approved and adopted by its members. The Belgian Gardens State School P&C meets the fourth Tuesday of each month (during school term) at 6pm for a General Meeting.  The Annual General Meeting is held early in the school year; usually in February or March.
The Belgian Gardens State School Tuckshop is a service offered by the P&C for the students and staff of our school. Our aim is to provide reasonably priced nutritional lunches and food that promote healthy eating habits for children, and we strive to follow the ‘Smart Choices’ policy wherever practical. It is vital that we have volunteers helping out in the Tuckshop to keep the costs down as we aim to operate at a reasonable profit, bringing income to the P&C and creating benefit to the school and, in turn, each child.
If you would like more information on joining the P&C, please feel free to come and see the friendly staff at the Tuckshop, email us at or find us on Facebook under 'Belgian Gardens State School P&C'.
