At Belgian Gardens State School, we believe students learn best when they feel safe, supported, connected, and valued. Our Wellbeing and Engagement programs help students build positive relationships, develop resilience, strengthen emotional wellbeing, and feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community.

Human Resources

Wellbeing and Engagement Teacher
Supports students, staff, and families to build positive wellbeing, engagement, and behaviour outcomes across the school.

Guidance Officer
Provides support for students' social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs through the WSST referral process

School Based Psychologist
Works alongside students to support mental health, wellbeing, and student development through the WSST referral process

Chaplain
Provides social and emotional support for students through mentoring, check ins, and small group programs.

Curriculum Resources

Open Parachute
Interactive wellbeing lessons that help students build resilience, confidence, emotional awareness, and positive relationships.

Gotcha4Life
A supporting framework that builds onto our current processes. Supplies resources that promote mental fitness, connection, and strategies to support positive wellbeing.

Boomer Lessons
Targeted lessons for Students in Prep to Year 2 that support respectful relationships, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour choices.

PCL Resources

Positive Culture for Learning framework focuses on teaching and reinforcing positive behaviours to create a safe and supportive school environment. The school's rules and expectations are:

  • Stay Safe

    Latch-Ons
    A simple, on the spot positive reward that recognises students for making positive choices. Students put their entries into a fortnightly prize draw through demonstrating expected behaviours and school values.

    Silver Certificates

    Recognises students who consistently demonstrate positive behaviour, effort, and school values throughout the term.

    Celebration Day
    A longer term reward system that recognises students who consistently positive behaviour, effort, and engagement throughout multiple terms. Students who earn at least three out of four Silver Certificates are invited to attend the Celebration Day event.

    Gold Certificates

    Recognises students who consistently demonstrate positive behaviour, effort, and school values across the year. Students who earn all four Silver Certificates receive a Gold Certificate and Seahorse Badge.​
